A Game Of The Heart
By Lisa Kurnosoff

Her heart seems so whole,
Yet split in so many ways.
Happiness and bruises tamper the soul,
There's a strategic game that everyone plays.

Her head aches,
From matters of the heart.
She is to make no mistakes,
When from someone she has to part.

People talking surrounding her ear,
She cannot hear herself.
Words of wisdom, opinions and tears,
Better left upon the shelf.

Matters of the heart,
became a dilemma in just a day.
One from the soul, others from the start,
One of them she has to betray.

She cries, "Help me my Lord!"
I cannot live this pain.
On each side there is a sword,
On one my heart will drain.

Each day it hurts to blink,
Holding back the tears.
She cannot sleep a wink,
For it's that day that she fears.

Her heart seems so whole,
Yet having to depart.
People play their role,
But, it's a sick game of the heart.
