A Game Of The Heart | Stumble | Thunder Be Still
Thunder Be Still
By Lisa Kurnosoff
The clouds roll by,
With the longest days.
With stillness I lie,
At night like always.
My heart like thunder,
Bringing on the crash.
All my thought asunder,
Burnining tears into ash.
The sharpness of the night,
Frightens my day.
As I'm reminded of how trite,
I am every moment gone away.
Silence captures me,
With nothing but a rhythm of a clock.
And in mind a plea,
For peace for me to walk.
I rock a pace,
That comforts my yearn.
For an enchanting place,
That can soothe this burn.
But, the night, my friend,
Is dignified with trust.
It offers no reprimand,
Just stillness and tears to dust.
So I lay with the night.
And cry out my pain.
Through these long days I fight.
But, this thunder brings so much rain.
I'll live through tomorrow,
And through these long days.
But, when night falls, so does sorrow,
And I'll lay here with stillness like always.
